Health department extends hours

NEWARK – The Licking County Health Department has expanded its hours on Tuesday evenings.

“Our staff is excited to offer expanded evening hours to better serve our customers.” said Joe Ebel, Licking County Health Commissioner. “Offering evening hours will make it more convenient for working individuals to take advantage of our services and assist working parents in getting their children vaccinated.” The Health Department’s Vital Statistics Office will be open until 7 p.m., allowing residents to obtain birth and death certificates and apply for environmental health permits and licenses beyond the department’s traditional hours.

In addition, the Health Department’s immunization clinic and sexual health clinic will now take appointments until 6:30 p.m. The extended hours will only be available on Tuesday evenings.
