Evans Park to close for work
HEBRON – Evans Park in Hebron will close for a few days toward the end of the month as a 60 foot culvert is replaced near its entrance.
Hebron Administrative Assistant Linda Nicodemus said the park would be closed Sept. 27 through 29 to accommodate the $212,400 project, which will be completed in two phases – the culvert replacement and repaving on Refugee Road. She said Hebron received a $132,405 Ohio Public Works Commission grant toward the project. “The rest is village money,” said Nicodemus, who expects Refugee Road to be closed near the park Sept. 28 as a crane places the culvert pipe. There’s a chance the closure could extend into Sept. 29. She said the new culvert replaces the old, which was constructed from bits and pieces of donated pipe and other materials. The new culvert is one new pipe and should last for many, many years.
Nicodemus said the second phase of the project is repaving Refugee Road from 9th Street to the village corporation limit. “It’s a huge paving,” she said. Traffic will be maintained during the repaving and she expects the second phase of the project to begin in October.
