Thanks to customers, friends

Editor:

Thank you to all my friends and customers that I have served during my many years at our Buckeye Lake Bank. I am finally retiring after 40+ years in banking.

I remember on my graduation day from Lakewood High School in 1964 that my Dad told me that I was to report to the First National Bank of Newark the next day. I reminded him that I did not apply for a job - didn’t matter - in those no application was needed; it was not what you knew, but who you knew. So away I went the next day in my pretty dress and white pumps not knowing the description of a “bank teller.”

Though the next 40+ years, I went through four bank mergers. The original First National Bank was merged into BancOhio Corp., then to National City Bank and finally to PNC. I was very, very lucky to have worked with the late Joan Wood, the late Lois Wilson, Sue Smith, Norma Clendenin, my past bank manager Dave VanSickle, and my great friend, Deana Brown.

But this isn’t about me, but about all the pople in this area that I have served and have become my very good friends. Please join me at the bank on my last day, Wednesday, August 31, for a munchie and a THANK YOU for your friendship.
