THORN TOWNSHIP- No one was injured, although a family pet is missing after a home at 14910 Twp Road 403, near Honey Creek Road, caught fire Tuesday afternoon. Jeff Baker, who owns the Copper Penny Tavern, also owns the home, which was nearly destroyed. “We’re not 110 percent sure what started it,” said Thorn Township Fire Chief Duane Moore, who didn’t want to comment on the cause until the investigation is complete. He said he wasn’t aware of any foul play involved. Moore said Baker’s family recovered two of three pet cats, although the third was missing as of Wednesday. No cat remains were found at the scene. A total of 38 fire fighters responded to the scene from Thorn Township, Licking Township, Glenford, Millersport, Thurston, Buckeye Lake, Hebron, and Somerset departments.
