Karen K. Edgington

A Mass of Christian Burial for Karen K. Edgington, 70, of Thornville, was held June 20, 2011, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Somerset, with Fr. Stephen Carmody officiating.

Karen died at Select Specialty Hospital of Zanesville on June 16, 2011. She was born in Columbus, on January 14, 1941, to the late William and Barbara ( Wertz) Butler.

Karen was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she was a choir member. She had also volunteered with the choir at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Buckeye Lake. Karen worked for many years as the deli clerk at the Buckeye Lake IGA Store, and most recently Kroger. She was a member of the Thornville Moose Lodge, AMVETS, and loved traveling to Florida with her husband.

Karen is survived by her husband of 43 years, Robert “Bob” Edgington, of the home; her five children and their spouses, Sandy and Ronald Lauber of Medina, Laura and Steve Corder of Beavercreek, Stephen Edgington of Buckeye

Lake, Michelle and James Aaron of Columbus, and Steve Stewart of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Arnold Dowdy of Hilliard; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Nora Thiel of Newark; and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Holy Trinity School, 225 South Columbus Street, Somerset, Ohio 43783.
