Millerpsort police and volunteers creating new station

MILLERSPORT – The former water treatment plant is starting to look more like an office than a utility plant.

Millersport Police officers and a legion of volunteers are converting it into a new police station at no cost to the village.

“It’s been crazy, to say the least,” said Police Chief John Shirk, who’s been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support. The entire renovation is being done through donations of construction supplies, equipment, skilled labor and personal time. Shirk estimates that the donations of material and labor total roughly $48,000. He is planning a grand opening Thank You Celebration for sometime in June.
