Louis F. Vacca

A Mass of Christian Burial for Louis F. Vacca, age 75, of Heath, was held April 6, 2011, at St. Leonard Catholic Church, Heath, with Fr. Michael J. Reis officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne.

Mr. Vacca died unexpectedly April 1, 2011, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was born May 29, 1935, in Youngstown, to the late Louis and Mary (Bonamace) Vacca.

Mr. Vacca received a degree in Pharmacy from Ohio Northern University, where he had been a member of Theta Kappa Phi Fraternity. He served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Vacca was a pharmacist, having retired from Gray Drugs/Rite Aid. He had worked in Columbus, Lancaster and Heath and most recently he worked part-time at the Thornville Pharmacy. Louis was a member of St. Leonard Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #12641.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Mayle) Vacca, whom he married November 7, 1959; four children, Jeffrey Louis (April) Vacca of Reynoldsburg, Charise Marie Vacca of Westerville, Melissa Anna (Ted) Pollom of Plain City and Michael Anthony (Kelly) Vacca of Pickerington; seven grandchildren, Brittany, Max, Jake, Gabby, Tony, Ava and Bella; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann and Catherine.
