Community gardeners sought in Baltimore
BALTIMORE – Spring is upon us and many of us have started making plans for raising a garden.
Faith Lutheran Church will be hosting the Baltimore Community Gardens again this year on our church property on South Main Street in Baltimore. Last year we donated over 650 pounds of produce to the Baltimore Food Pantry.
Liberty Union High School vocational agriculture students will be helping us prepare the gardens again this year. Bill Steinman from the Fairfield County Community Gardens will be assisting us with seeds, plants, and other supplies.
The gardens will be set up in 24 x 24 foot beds with wood chips between them.
We are looking for scout groups, 4- H clubs, church groups, garden clubs, or other groups or individuals who would like to take on caring for a garden plot from planting to harvest. You are welcome to use some of the produce for your personal use with the rest of the produce being given to the Baltimore Food Pantry.
If you are interest- ed or have questions about the community garden project, please call or email: Art Brate….740-862-4821 firstname.lastname@example.org
