Maribel R. Neel

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Maribel R. Neel, will be held Friday, February 25, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of The Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville, with Pastor Steven Brown as celebrant.

Maribel died suddenly, Sunday, February 20, 2011, in Columbus, following a fall at her home. She was born February 1, 1921, in Perry County, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Hoover) Fisher.

She was a graduate of Hebron School, Class of 1938, Bliss Business College, 1939; and had worked in the Lincoln Leveque tower for several years. She was an active member of the Hebron Christian Church, the original Buckeye Lake Firebells, Buckeye Lake Youth Association, T & C Club, Farm Bureau, Greater Buckeye Lake Historical Society and was a 65 year member of Eagon Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, in Hebron. She was a volunteer at Licking Memorial for 35 years.

She is survived by her loving family: her sons, John D. Neel and Jim (Shirley) Neel; son-in-law, Jim Janks of Prospect; her sisters, Pearl Daubenmire and Donna Braig; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Clifford Neel in 1975; her daughter, Susan Neel Janks in 1976; her daughter, Sarah Neel Brockman in 2000; brothers, Perry and Fred; and sisters, Thelma, Nelle and Carrie.

Friends may call on Friday, February 25, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at noon at the funeral home, 285 E. Main St., Kirkersville, where an online guest register and memorial tribute to Maribel are available at www.hoskinsonfuneral.com.

The family has requested that memorials be directed to the Hebron Christian Church, PO Box 736, Hebron, Ohio 43025.
