Karen Holdbrook Kentosh
Karen Holdbrook Kentosh, 67, of Millersport, passed away February 11, 2011, at Arlington Care Center in Heath, after a series of strokes. Karen was born August 29, 1943, to Thelma Fisher Holdbrook and John Holdbrook.
She graduated from Lakewood High School and Wright State University. Her employment history included Cardinal Industries and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, where she was a publications writer. Most recently, she was the administrative assistant for Walnut Township Trustees. She was a volunteer at Dawes Arboretum and a Volunteer Naturalist for Ohio State Parks.
She is survived by her brother, Homer Poorman and his wife Lucy; her sister, Mary Meinzen; nieces and nephews, Debra Goodman, Diane Kephart, Melissa Meinzen, Derrick Poorman and Forrest Poorman; numerous aunts; cousins; and friends.
A memorial lunch, celebrating her life, will be held at The Dawes Arboretum, on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. To honor her memory, the family suggests that memorials be directed to the Dawes Arboretum, 7770 Jacksontown Road S.E., Newark, Ohio 43056, where a tree will be dedicated in Karen’s honor.
