Children’s eBooks available

NEWARK – Licking County Library was recently awarded a Sylvan Dell School and Library Resource Grant.

The grant provides a oneyear free trial of their eBook Site License with 55 titles. These eBooks can be read in either English or Spanish. The user can choose to read the book or listen to an audio recording. Look for the big blue Sylvan Dell eBooks button on the kids page of the Library website to access the books on your computer at home.

Each title includes teaching activities, quizzes, related websites, and more.

“These books are fun to read, and this is a great resource for students at home or in the classroom. They could help Spanish language students improve their Spanish, too,” says Sadie Smith, Head of Children’s Services for the Library.

Licking County Library is offering a workshop on eReader devices on Tuesday, January 18, at 6 p.m. in the large, first floor meeting room of the Newark Library. This workshop will include information about eBooks, eReaders and a short demonstration about downloading eBooks from the library’s website. Registration is required and space is limited. To register for the class or more information, contact the library at 740.349.5553.
