Douglas B. Sellers

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Douglas B. Sellers, 64, of Heath, was held November 3, 2010, in the chapel of The Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville. Burial followed in Kirkersville Cemetery.

Doug died Saturday afternoon, October 30, 2010 in Newark, following an extended illness. He was born January 21, 1946, in Dayton, the son of the late Charles B. and Mildred F. (Beecher) Sellers. He was a graduate of Granville High School, Class of 1965, and retired from Rockwell in 1997 after 31 years of dedicated service. As a young man, Doug was very active in 4-H, and represented Licking County for several years at the Ohio State Beef judging contests.

Doug was an outstanding pool player, belonging to the Moundbuilders men’s pool league. He was regarded by many as among the “top 3 players” in the county. He also was an avid Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Lakers fan. He had attended the Church of God in his earlier years.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Penny, whom he married on October 26, 1983; his son, Anthony of San Diego, CA; his four daughters, Marti E. (Kenneth) Wright of Newark, Monica L. Sellers of Sparta, TN, Mandy M. (Andy) Brown of Sparta, TN, and Jessica Sellers of Heath; his grandchildren, Marcus, Maziah, Christopher, Kyle, Kendra, Ryan, Shelby and Lauren; his brother, David Sellers of Granville; his niece, Carla W. Sellers; and nephew, Michael Sellers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Mindy
