Thomas J. Williams

Thomas J. Williams, 61, of Thornville, died unexpectedly Monday, October 25, 2010, on his property in a farming accident.

He was born May 30, 1949, in Lancaster to Ray F. Williams, deceased in October 1998, and Betty J. Cox Williams. He was well known in the farming community. Tom was a decorated Marine Veteran who served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Bremen American Legion Post 20. He was active in football and track at Fairfield Union High School where he graduated in 1967. Tom also worked at the Baltimore paper mill. He enjoyed fishing and collecting tractors. Tom will be missed by his super dog, Sadie.

He is survived by Alberta J. Johnson, fiancée of 23 years; mother; brother, Bill R. (Nancy) Williams; sister, Susan L. Michael; daughter, Meghan Fisher; step dad to William, Anthony, Ira and Tawanya; step grandfather to seven girls; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, James E. Michael Jr.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from noon to 1:00 p.m. at Sheridan Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Cremation is to follow.

Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery with Military Honors at a later date.
