Norma Jean Lewis

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Norma Jean Lewis, 86, of Hebron, was held October 20, 2010, in the chapel of The Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville, with Pastor Brian Harkness as celebrant. Burial followed at Kirkersville Cemetery.

Norma died Monday, October 18, 2010, at Newark, following an extended illness. She was born to the late Clarence and Ada (Lydic) Clark in Hebron on September 21, 1924. She was a graduate of Hebron High School, Class of 1947, and worked briefly for North American Rockwell in Columbus.

She married Roger Junior Lewis and they had two children: a daughter Margo Coman and a son, the late Roger Clark Lewis, who preceded her in death in 2008. She is also survived by her grandchildren, James Roger (Angie) and Drew Carson (Nicole) Coman, Roger James Lewis, Stacey Lewis and Jeff Lewis; her daughter-in-law, Brenda Lewis; and her sister, Patty (Ralph) Zollinger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Lewis in 1991; her son, Roger Clark Lewis in 2008; and her sister, Jody Schoop in 2006.

Norma was a very active member of the Hebron community as a member of Hebron United Methodist Church, Hebron Historical Society, American Legion Auxiliary, and the 55 Plus Club of Hebron.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy in the form of memorial contributions be directed to the Licking County Aging Program, (for the Meals on Wheels program), 745 E Main St. Newark, OH 43055.
