Writer tired of waking up to hunters’ gunshots

Editor:

A “special” thank you to all of you exceptionally brave men who shoot and kill ducks for entertainment on the weekends at Buckeye Lake.

Those of us who go to work every day except the weekends especially thank you for blasting ducks with your shotguns before the sun comes up on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 5:30 to 6 a.m. and waking everyone who lives here long before they want to wake up on their days off.

What a horrible noise to wake up to in the morning. The continuous blasts of shot guns shooting ducks that most of us have watched hatch, fed for the summer, domesticated, fondly watched raise their families and swim by our homes all summer.

I pray you all eat what you kill for pleasure and thank God for the lives you take to keep your Karma in equilibrium.

All I can think is that you are all starving and really need the meat of these hapless and innocent birds or you are really all horrible shots because the seeming carnage goes on for quite some time. But above and beyond that, no matter how it’s sliced or diced, it’s my opinion that you are killing for entertainment.
