Irma I. (Phillips) McClung

A funeral service for Irma I. (Phillips) McClung, age 81, of Hebron, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 8, at the Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Irving Ross, John Willbur and Scott Hanks officiating. Entombment will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. McClung died Sunday, October 3, 2010, at her daughter’s residence in Columbus. She was born June 5, 1929, in Slab Fork, WV to the late Clyde and Pearl (Thomas) Phillips.

Irma moved to Ohio in 1956 with her late husband, Denvin. She retired from the Newark Air Force Base in 1986. Irma enjoyed making crafts, flower arrangements, loved cooking and was an avid bowler. Irma will be missed by all those who knew her and were blessed to have known her as our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend and sister in Christ.

Surviving are her five children, Darlene Van Trease of Columbus, Marilyn (Mario) Ciardelli of Columbus, Denvin (Esther) McClung, Jr., of Ferndale, MI., Helen (Chuck) Haire of Hebron, and Michelle (Brad Holland) McClung of Heath; grandchildren, William (Angela), Natalie (Carl), Ryan (Rebecca), Ross, Scott, Samantha, Joseph, Melissa, Paul and Steve; greatgrandchildren, Cynthia, Bryanna, Madison, Charlie and Ian; brothers and sisters, Junior (Bea) Phillips of WV, Nell (Ray) Jackson of FL, Alice (Roy) Miller of MO and Hazel (Jay) Adams of TX.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Carol Sue; granddaughter, Nicole; brother, Von Phillips; and son-in-law, Paul Van Trease.

Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, at the funeral home, 1249 Hebron Road.
