Mildred Opal Higgins

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Mildred Opal Higgins, 75, of Outville, will be held Friday, September 17, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel of The Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville, with The Rev. M. Stephen Merold as celebrant. Burial will follow at Kirkersville Cemetery.

Millie died Monday evening, September 13, 2010, in Columbus following a brief illness. She was born in Outville, on October 14, 1934, the daughter of the late Martin Newton and Florence Mae (Johnson) Cramer, Sr. She was a graduate of Kirkersville High School, Class of 1953, and had worked for many years at the Meteor Records in Columbus as an account representative.

She enjoyed camping and boating, loved being at her home with her husband and family; and loved watching sports, especially wrestling.

She is survived by her loving family: her husband, Joseph T. Higgins, whom she married on May 16, 1964; her sisters, Bernice Searls of Outville and Lulu A Negele of Heath; her brother, Martin (Joyce) Cramer of Mt. Vernon; her aunt, Mamie McCormick of Newark; her niece and nephews, Terri (David) McConnell, David (Susan) Cramer, Greg (Michelle) Cramer, Lawrence (Tina) Waldren, Timothy Waldren, Steve Searls, Mike (Susan) Searls, Martin (Patty) Negele; sisters-in-law, Anna Marie Pase, Arlene Barlow and Sheryl Eastridge; special friends, Mary Lou Snyder, Judith Cramer; and many great nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ellen Waldren; and two nephews, David and Jerry Negele.

Many thanks to the Outville Presbyterian Church for their special meals and caring concern during Millie’s illness. Also thanks to Rev. M. Stephen and Kay Merold for their many visits and prayers.
