Lawrence “Herb” Klein
Lawrence “Herb” Klein, 74, of Baltimore, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2010.
He was born November 11, 1935, in Newark, to the late Josephine (Adams) Klein and John H. Klein. He retired from Lucent Technologies/AT&T after 33 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 387, Newark; Olivedale; and Trinity United Church of Christ, Baltimore.
Herb is survived by his wife, Mary (Keller-Beyer) Klein; two sons, John (Jennifer) Klein of Buckeye Lake, and Michael Klein of Newark; daughters, Sharon (Troy) Howard of Thurston, and Debra Darby of West Portsmouth, Ohio; step-sons, Tim (Marissa) Hottinger of Glenford, Phillip (Gina) Beyer of Lancaster, and Derrick (Tammi) Beyer of Pleasantville; step-daughters, Sheila (Terry) Thomas of Baltimore and Shelle (David) Praither of Pleasantville; sisters, Betty (Frank) Ault of Baton Rouge, LA, and Jo Ellen (Gary) Scott of Gilbert, AZ; foster sister, Joyce Stanley of Pataskala; and many grandchildren; great grandchildren; step-grandchildren; step-great grandchildren; nieces, and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, John Klein Jr.; and a brother, Leonard “Lee” Klein.
Funeral service was August 30, 2010, at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, Baltimore, with Reverend Jill Dunlap officiating. Burial followed in Union Cemetery, Baltimore.
