Jack Page Lyons

Jack Page Lyons, age 74, of Thornville, passed away at his residence on Monday, August 16, 2010.

Jack was born in New Lexington, on May 31, 1936, to the late Holmer J. and Helen I. (Page) Lyons. He served in the U.S. Army and was a life member of AMVETS Post 51. He worked at Dennison University for 24 years as the head of the print department, and a member of the Masonic Lodge Post 521. Jack also loved his music, playing the steel guitar, and riding his motorcycle with his friends. Thank you to all his music friends.

Jack is survived by his children, Peggy Marie Murrow, Tina Marie (Kevin) Peck, Jack Allen Lyons and Melody (Tony) Newlun; six grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Terry) Campbell, Jacqueline Bollinger, and April Fisher; and special friends, Don and Ed Bennett, Brenda Sue and Delbert Osborn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Ralph Fisher; stepmother; Dorthy Campbell; son, Terry Lyons; and brother, Jim Lyons.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Boring-Sheridan Funeral Home, 56 South Main Street, Thornville. There will be a Masonic service at 8 p.m. and the Eastern Star service immediately following.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 20, 2010, at the funeral home with Reverend Jerry Mears officiating. Entombment will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens.
