Robert Naayers, age 79 of Hebron, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010, at Licking Memorial Hospital.
Robert was born in Columbus on June 13, 1931, to the late Robert and Dorothy (Bare) Naayers. He served in the United States Marine Corps and a lifetime member of the Buckeye Lake VFW Post 1388. He was a member of the Free and Excepting Masons Post 157 of Nelsonville and the Scottish Rites of Columbus. Robert was a member of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office mounted unit, a City of Columbus Police officer and a State of Ohio Division of Liquor Control agent.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Marlene (Davis); children, Christina (Brad) Jerkovac, Mark (Lisa) Naayers, Cindy Krestzer, Cheryl Godfrey, Candy (Louis) Ferriolo and Lori (Chris) Creiglow; stepchildren, Lisa (Gary) Jensen, Mike (Debbie) Furniss and Steve (Rita) Furniss; 26 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and brother, Bud (Jo Ann) Naayers.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2010, at First Community Church in Buckeye Lake with Pastor David Moody officiating.
