George Irvin Burrows
George Irvin Burrows, age 67 of Buckeye Lake, passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital on Monday, August 9, 2010.
George was born in Charleston, West Virgina, on May 12, 1943, to the late George Delbert and Iona Mae (McKinney) Burrows. He retired after 36 years from Anchor Hocking. He loved camping, fishing and was an avid motorcycle rider. By the grace of God he had 322 days of sobriety, a member of AA, and his proudest accomplishments was his family and sobriety. George gave the gift of life through Life Line of Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki; children, Kimberly Yates, Karin (Guy) Moore, Douglas (Jena), Mandy (Phil), Chris and Becky; grandchildren, Ashlia Marie, Allen (Joy), Erin, Holly, Matt, Trenton, Taylor, Travis, Megan, Emily, Trevor, and Hayley; great grandchildren, Brayden and Xaiden; brothers, Fred (Judy) Burrows, Bill (Alice) Burrows, and Ronnie (Yukiko) Burrows; several nieces and nephews; his first wife, Wanda Burrows; and his beloved dog, China.
In addition to his parent,s he is preceded in death by grandson, Keegan Carl and nephew, George Davis Burrows.
A celebration of George’s life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Good Shepard Church, 700 Spring Street, Lancaster, with Pastor James Dextor officiating. There will be calling hours a half hour prior to the service.
