James E. Allen

A funeral service, celebrating the life of James E Allen, 79, of Kirkersville, was held July 28, 2010, in the chapel of The Hoskinson Funeral Home, with Pastor William Van Meter as celebrant. Burial followed at Kirkersville Cemetery.

Jim died Saturday morning, July 24, 2010, in Newark, following an extended illness. He was born March 8, 1931 in Outville, the son of the late Joseph and Irene (Eisenhour) Allen. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Korea. He was retired from the Westinghouse Corporation of Columbus, and had worked in retirement for Krogers, Big Bear, and Festival Foods, and had worked security for Smith’s Security of Reynoldsburg.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Wanda; his two daughters Christy (Randy) Snedegar of Kirkersville and Carolyn (Eric) Weidner of Buckeye Lake; former son-in-law, Sonny Wells; six grandchildren, Jenny (Charlie) Snedegar of Hebron, Laura (Sean ) Wells of Pataskala, Dianna Wells of Newark, Stephanie (Jerrod) Weidner of Hebron, Christa (Zack) Wells of Reynoldsburg and Morgan Nieser of Kirkersville; six great-grandchildren, Gage Stirling, Xavier Alexander- Wells, Teagan Bordenkircher, Connor Riely and Hunter and Allie Webb of Pickerington; his brothers, Danny (Terri) Allen of Pataskala, Charles (Dorothy) Allen of Etna, and Gene (Pauline) Allen of South Carolina; his sisters, Patty (Larry) Williams of Thornville and Anna Mae Williams of Pataskala; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by all.
