Three area musicians make All-Ohio State Fair Band

COLUMBUS— The All-Ohio State Fair Band (AOSFB) has announced its membership for the 2010 Ohio State Fair.

The All-Ohio State Fair Band was founded in 1925 and continues its tradition of exceptional music in the 21st century. Composed of 200 superior musicians from high schools all over Ohio, the AOSFB is a testament to the musical talents of young Ohioans.

The AOSFB, with students ranging from grades 9 - 12, learns nearly 60 pieces of concert music from various styles and genres, including numerous marches. John Philip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever!” closes each of the performances.

Throughout the 2010 Ohio State Fair, the Band will perform nearly 80 concerts including a return to the Coliseum and a performance on the State House steps.

The Band has been under the direction of Donald Santa-Emma since 1999.

Lake area All-Ohio State Fair Band members are:

• Clara Bittner, Liberty Union-Thurston High School, Tuba;

• Matt Toskin, Lakewood High School, Drum Major; and

• Morgan Fowler, Sheridan High School, Tuba.
