Queen of the Lake, crew helps with boat rescue Sunday
BUCKEYE LAKE – The lake was jammed with boats Sunday afternoon as the Buckeye Lake Museum’s “Queen of the Lake” was returning to its dock after discharging her passengers at the North Shore Boat Ramp.
Nearby a small boat with two men and two teenagers was taking on water. It capsized throwing the four occupants into the water.
Queen Captain Charlene Hayden piloted the large pontoon to the scene. Museum director J-me Braig and museum intern Eric Sptizer of Hebron retrieved the four from the water with some help from a sailboat crew that also came to the scene. All four occupants were uninjured and were dropped off on dry land.
