Public forums on Lakewood levy set

HEBRON – Lakewood School District voters with questions about the levy on the August 3 ballot have three opportunities to ask questions and get more information.

The Lancer Pride Committee is sponsoring three community forums during July. School board members will be at each of the forums to answer questions about the proposed levy.

• Saturday, July 3 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. during the Jacksontown United Methodist Church’s monthly all-you-can eat breakfast.

• Thursday, July 15 from 6 - 8 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Enjoy a free root beer float.

• Sunday, July 25 from 1 - 4 p.m. at Hebron’s Canal Park. Enjoy the Lancer Band, free car wash and free root beer floats.

The Lancer Pride Committee is seeking help for its “Mine + 9” event starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 11 in the Jackson Intermediate School cafeteria. Volunteers will be contacting interested voters and reminding them to vote. Free hot dogs, chips and drinks will be served. Supporters will also be able to pick up “Vote Yes for Lakewood” signs.
