Still working on mute swan protection

Editor:

I just briefly want to respond to Michael Entler’s letter last week, joking about eating swans. You must be as cold hearted as the Gerling family.

If you like them so much, why don’t you help them pack up and move away from the lake and all its wildlife, native or nonnative.

Doesn’t it seem strange out of the thousands of residents living on or near our beautiful lake that only one family has continuing problems with the swans. These “attack” swans seem to be on their best behavior for everyone else. Maybe it’s because they had Samantha killed.

I have now spoken with Congressman Zack space’s office about protection for mute swans on the federal level. I’ve been asked to send letters of support, newspaper clippings etc. to his office. Maybe we’ll be able to get them some protection without a petition.

Please send your letters of support to my attention at P.O. Box 114, Buckeye Lake, OH 43008 I’ll forward them to his office. Sam still needs our help!
