BLASST still needs your help
Please remember the BLASST show is set for 10 p.m. on Friday, July 2.
This is my last BLASST Letter to the Editor which some of you won’t read until after the holiday. Well, not exactly my last…I will, as historically done, thank all of you who donated.
Yep, the fireworks are set for July 2nd at 10 p.m. I want to thank the 13 people who called me in the last two days to share with me that South Central Power’s Country Living Magazine printed our date as July 4th for the fireworks. Yes, it listed my name and number but I haven’t ever spoken with them until yesterday and they aren’t sure where they got the information either. I suppose it was from one of those hopeful people that wanted the fireworks on the 4th of July. Thank you for calling me and letting me know!!
Tory and I headed over to Papa Boo’s last Wednesday and received a generous check from the Wednesday night trivia crew. We certainly want to thank all those faithful trivia players and those who enjoy the 50/50. Thanks to Jason Biggs for hosting trivia night and Dan & Randy for choosing the BLASST as your charity.
As you head out on your boat or if you are watching from land, take a radio and tune to WKNO Kool Classics 101.7 for the fireworks simulcast. And please as you load your boat up, BE CAREFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE and OBSERVE the BLASST Public Service Notice in this paper and advise all of your guest, friends and family of the rules. Boaters, there is an emergency waterway, and this must be kept clear. Please know the rules, follow them and keep our holiday tradition safe! For those on land, we ask your help in keeping our parks clean. Please pick up after yourself, your guests and the others who are not so considerate to do so. We appreciate your help.
The BLASST t-shirts are selling quickly. We now have two locations that you can buy a t-shirt. The Buckeye Lake Place located across from the Pizza Cottage on St. Rt. 79 and the Buckeye Lake Marina in Millersport. Thank you to those who have already purchased your shirt.
For last minute questions or concerns, feel free to give me a call on my cell phone, Marnita Swickard 614-419-0478 or 740-246-5525.
In closing, there is still time to help support this unique community tradition. As you enjoy the show, please remember... this is not a government funded community event; nor do we have large corporate sponsors. It is also not a birthright or entitlement given to those who live in this community. So for one last and final plea, and if you are not already on our mailing list, please consider writing a tax deductible check to BLASST, 13284 West Bank Rd., Millersport, OH 43046 and support this huge tri-county community event. Thank you!
