Janet Kay Raver
Janet Kay Raver, 56, of Baltimore, was called home to heaven to be with her savior on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, after an eleven year battle with cancer.
Janet was born November 3, 1953, in Lancaster. She graduated from Lancaster High School, earned a Bachelors degree in Education from Ohio University, and received her Masters Degree in Education Administration from the University of Dayton. Janet taught for 30 years in the Lancaster City School system and served as a member of the Liberty Union-Thurston Board of Education for nine years. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Baltimore.
Janet is survived by her husband of 33 years, Tim; sons, Cory Raver and Clark (Shelly) Raver of Baltimore, and Casey (Mindy) Raver of Hilliard; brother, Larry Anders; sisters, Donna Parrish of Lancaster, and Karen (Steve) Dombrowski of Pickerington; nieces, Andrea (Todd) Ashcraft of Lancaster, and Jackie (Shawn) Cassidy of Commercial Point; nephews, Joe Dombrowski and Jared (Bethany-fiance) Dombrowski of Pickerington; and great nieces, Rowan and Makenna.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold L. and Katherine M. Anders; a brother, Howard Anders; and a very special daughter-in-law, Stori Ann Raver.
Janet’s passion was reading. She loved to read and watch her NASCAR races. During her illness, she learned to crochet to help her pass the time.
Funeral service was June 18, 2010, at Christ United Methodist Church, Baltimore, with Pastor Mike Donnally officiating. Caring cremation took place after the service.
