JoAnne Collins, 80, of Hebron, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in Winchester, KY.
She was born on September 30, 1929, in Newark, to the late Dale F. and Katherine (Parkinson) Meier.
JoAnne was a member of the Newark Heights Church of God and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She dedicated her life to her family; she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid sports fan and loved cooking for her family. The family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Clark County Medical Center and all those who have been there for their mother over the years.
JoAnne is survived by her children, Sandra Parks, Deborah (Rick) Smith, James Collins, Jr. and Michael (Tamara K.) Collins; sisters, Mary Gockenbach and Carol Reinholtz; grandchildren, Amy, Greg, Mike, Justin, Jamie, Brandy, Traci, Tiffany and Jessica; great grandchildren, Bobby, Dustin, Dolten, Colton, Trenton, Kattie, Stephanie, Abigail, Camron, Allen, Trevor, Lyric and D’Angelo; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Collins, Sr.; sister, Sue Smith; and grandchildren, Travis Allen Cornett and Ashley Hyatt.
Funeral services for JoAnne were held June 12, 2010, at the Boring-Sheridan Funeral Home in Hebron with Pastor Scott Murphy officiating. Burial was at the Hebron Cemetery.
