More reasons to like Walnut Township

Our Spring Fling and Armed Forces Day are two examples of why living in Walnut Township is a great place.

Millersport Elementary PTO, after a one-year absence, brought back the Annual Spring Fling celebration. The proceeds supplement teaching materials for instructors. The recent focus has been to purchase smart boards. Students enjoy these interactive tools. After seeing a smart board in action, I know why students and teachers like them. There are obviously too many people to thank individually, but collectively I would like to thank everyone who helped make this event possible.

Heather Legue, a member of the Central Ohio Freedom Ride 2010 organization in a joint effort with the Buckeye Lake VFW 1388 Honor Guard, Cub Scout Pack 227 and the Millersport Marching Lakers Band honored our men and women in uniform for Armed Forces Day. Pastor Dan Monk was the featured speaker on Saturday May 15, as the motorcyclists raised $1,100 for Operation Homefront Ohio. Operation Home Front donates money to families of deployed service members who have financial emergencies.

Because of the time and effort of the many volunteers from our area, it is no wonder that the Buckeye Lake area is the best-kept secret in Central Ohio.
