Robert Franklin “Bob” Owen
A funeral service celebrating the life of Robert Franklin “Bob” Owen, 68, of Hebron, was held May 12, 2010, in the chapel of The Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville; Burial followed at Kirkersville Cemetery.
Bob died Thursday, May 6, 2010, in Columbus after a lengthy illness. He was born in Columbus, on June 28, 1941, the son of the late Paul F. and Dorothy (Holland) Owen.
He was raised by his father and step-mother Bernece Owen. He was a 1959 graduate of Hebron High School and had worked for many years as a cement mason until 1973, when he started Owen Concrete Floors. In 1983, he started Granville Builders Supply for Columbus Coal and Lime and was there for five years. He then started his own cultured stone business, Carriage Hill Stone which he sold in 1999. For the past nine years, he has been a consultant for Heritage Stone Co in Zanesville.
He is survived by his loving family: his wife, the former Harriett Ross, whom he married on June 6, 1965; his children, Brian (Sheryl), and Nancy (Michael) Albanese of Hebron; his three grandchildren, Michael, Michaella and Mason; his brother, Richard (Linda) Owen of Hebron; sister-in-law, Carol Lewis of Mountain Home, AR; several nieces; and a nephew.
