Bowling Green Township wants to hear from residents

Editor:

There is something missing in Bowling Green Township. The township is one of the last townships in Licking County to have zoning regulations without a Comprehensive Plan.

A Comprehensive Plan is a document used for long range planning of land use. The plan can affect zoning regulations and encourage development. It can also be used to assist land owners in their quest to preserve farmland and historic buildings. The plan is constructed by the community for the community.

The first step to adopt a plan requires that the community respond to a survey. A survey was recently sent by the Licking County Planning Commission l to all families in Bowling Green Township who had a registered voter in their household. Results from the survey will be tabulated and used to guide the planning committee in the development of a draft Comprehensive Plan. So, now is your time to provide your opinion regarding housing, business development, and farmland in Bowling Green Township.

If you are not a registered voter, then you can still be heard. You can use the internet to complete a survey at http://www. surveymonkey.com/s/6L3NW3C, Or, you can contact the planning committee at our next meeting Wednesday May 19 at 5:30PM in the Bowling Green Township garage. We ask that each household submit only one survey.

Although the draft plan will be presented at future public meetings for review and modification, now is the best time to get your opinion included into the plan. Please join us in filling in the missing piece. Will you help us create a vision for and use in our township?
