James L. King
James L. King, 68 of Millersport, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010 at The Pickering House after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
He was a lifelong farmer in Millersport and member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster.
He is survived by his wife, Linda K. King; daughter, Lynette (Jim) Mattox, Pleasantville; son, Mike (Sherrill) King, Millersport; daughter, Lori (Brian Harwood) King, Millersport; grandchildren, Ashlee (D.J. Palmentera), Kaitlyn, Ryan, Taylor; and by his mother, Phyllis King; sisters, Jean (Milt) Plunkett, Beavercreek, Judy (J.B.) Coffman, Pataskala; sister-in-law, Diana (Dale) Witte, Worthington; nieces and nephews; and close friend, Dale Klamfoth.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert W. King; mother and father-in-law, Ralph & Marjorie Smurr; and brother-in-law, Denny Smurr.
Funeral services were held April 21, 2010,. at the Halteman Fett & Dyer Funeral Home, Lancaster with Rev. Alice Wolfe officiating. Burial was at the Thornville Lutheran Reformed Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to The Fairfield County Agricultural Society in Jim’s memory.
