Beacon story understated contributions to new track

Editor:

Thanks for the great coverage of our first track meet on the new track at Millersport High School. As always, you report events in our area with accuracy and fairness. However, I would like to correct some of the information about the funding of the track. The Track Renovation committee contributed much more than you reported.

We were blessed with several large contributions from local residents and many checks poured in from former athletes. On addition to a gift basket raffle and a beef raffle, we raised nearly $75,000, in addition to the wonderful grant from the Columbus Foundation of $25,000.

All of which saved district residents tax dollars and increased the value of their properties thru the increased school’ s facilities.

Good school, good community! Grest school, great community!

Thanks again for your continued support.
