New medical center opens
The $35 million project located on Diley Road off US 33 in Canal Winchester is a collaborative effort between Mount Carmel Health System and Fairfield Medical Center.
Jodi Wilson, DRMC Onsite Administrator, said, “The collaboration between Mount Carmel Health System and Fairfield Medical Center benefits all citizens of northern Fairfield County as the two health systems combine their resources for the good of the community. My team and I look forward to meeting the needs of people seeking emergency care in this area.”
Studies conducted by Mount Carmel Health System and Fairfield Medical Center have confirmed that health services are under-represented in this rapidly growing corridor between Lancaster and Columbus. Significant investment by the state and local government has attracted ongoing growth to the US 33 corridor between Columbus and Lancaster.
Diley Ridge Medical Center includes a 24-hour emergency care center staffed by emergency medicine physicians, emergency trained nurses, ER technicians, and support associates, with access to ground and air transport services. The facility offers 10 inpatient/observation beds, imaging services such as MRI, CT scan, x-ray, ultrasound, and mammography, as well as laboratory services.
Diley Ridge Medical Center also includes a 46,000 squarefoot medical office building for specialty and primary-care physicians, and a Nationwide Children’s Hospital Close To HomeSM Center featuring urgent care. Future plans for Diley Ridge could include outpatient surgery and a full service hospital as the population grows.
