$500 for best BLASST theme

Well with 20+” of snow lying around everywhere and freezing cold temperatures, its hard to believe that soon we will be entertaining weekend friends, boating, and focusing on 4th of July festivities. That’s right, 4th of July will soon be here!

This year will bring about a few changes. The most obvious being the fact that Tory Wolfe has stepped down from the BLASST. For years, her dedication, many hours of reaching out to supporters and donors, and tireless efforts will be greatly missed. Words can’t really describe the loss the BLASST will endure this year. I will simply do my best....and I’m certain there will be a few learning curves.

My first order of business is to get a theme for the BLASST this year. So I’m asking those in the community to help with this task! The BLASST is willing to pay $500 to the person who provides the winning name/theme. If you have a theme in mind, please drop those ideas in the mail, fax or email them to me. I’d like to publish this theme by February 28th.

We will have T-shirts this year but look for a little change. Many of you requested a color option other than white, so depending on the theme and artwork needed we are looking at adding a color shirt.

As always, donations are needed. We lost several large sponsors so we won’t have nearly the budget we have had in the past. Some folks have told me they put out a collection cup in their home and allow those families and friends to donate. Whatever your source, we will need help. We will continue with our fund raising efforts and will mail out our letters. Times are certainly tough for everyone, and I understand that....but if everyone gives a little....pennies make dollars and we will have a nice show.

Speaking of the show.....the BLASST will be Friday, July 2nd. So mark your calendars now and look for more information soon.
