James L. “Bummie” Baumgartner

James L. “Bummie” Baumgartner, 79, of Blue Rock, passed away Dec. 24, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. He was born on July 24, 1930, in Newark, to the late Joseph and Esther (Inlow) Baumgartner.

James was the co-owner of Bummies Hi- Spot in Newark, which he and his late wife, Stella, operated for 30 years.

James leaves behind two sons, Jerry L. (Rebecca) Baumgartner of Buckeye Lake, and James D. (Patricia) Baumgartner of Newark; mother, Esther Baumgartner; brothers, Gerald “Skip” Baumgartner; sisters, Linda (Kenny) Rhodes; Janet (Monte) Nagy; special dog, Buckeye Buck; many special grandchildren; great-grandchildren; numerous extended family; and many, many friends.

In addition to his father, James was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Stella L. Baumgartner, whom passed away August 15, 2005; brothers, Don, Jack, Joe Jr.; and sister Rosemary Ratliff.

Services were held Dec. 30. Interment was in Newark Memorial Gardens.
