James E. Talbot
James E. Talbot, 72, of Lancaster, formerly of Baltimore, died on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 at Fairfield Medical Center.
He was a US Army veteran and retired from Lucent Technologies in Columbus. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Baltimore Senior Citizens, Olivedale St. Citizens Center, American Legion; wasavid card player, railroader and bowler.
He is survived by his son, Robert Talbot of Lancaster; daughters, Marie (Joseph) Jasper of Bremen, Ohio, and Michelle (Shannon) Zeigler of Pleasantville, Ohio; six grandchildren, Robert Talbot II, Corey Jasper, Teghan Zeigler, Rebekah Jasper, Jamie Davidson, and Shylar Zeigler; sister-in-law, Jean Talbot of Newark; nieces, Diane (Gary) Dixon, Tami (Kevin) Holman, Cathy (Tim) Melick, and Susie Gemienhardt; also other sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen, in 2009; parents, Edward and Bertha Talbot; brother, Richard Talbot.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church with Fr. Donald Franks as celebrant. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may visit Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, Baltimore.
