Welcome, Santa!

MILLERSPORT– Hundreds flocked to see this year ’s Millersport Christmas parade Dec. 8 featuring the jolly one, himself! This year’s parade lacked the cold temperatures and snow of last year’s, and attendance was excellent, said parade coordinator Faye Whitaker. She estimated that 150 children stuck around after the parade to sit and Santa’s lap and wish for a big present beneath the tree Christmas morning.

“I thought it went very well,” said Whitaker, who believes that this year’s parade was the seventh annual. Whitaker began helping to coordinate the parade in its second year, after Millersport Valero owner Jeff Watson founded it. Watson was unavailable for comment. “It’s Jeff Watson’s parade,” said Whitaker. “He always does a great job!”
