Baltimore Lions set Dec. 12 Community Day

BALTIMORE - Food items to stock the Baltimore Food Pantry will be collected at the Baltimore Lions Club Community Day, Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Held on Baltimore Square, at the intersection of Ohio 256 and 158, the Community Day features free funnel cakes. Art Brate of the Lions Club said last year the group collected two pickup truck loads of food for the pantry and gave out more than 100 free funnel cakes.

Items needed include box dinners, canned soup, canned fruit, macaroni, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, pork and beans, flour, sugar, saltine crackers, shortening, catsup, toilet paper, liquid dish soap, shampoo, cake mixes and frosting.

Eye glasses may also be dropped off, and information will be available for free eyeglasses referrals, diabetic supply assistance and Lions membership.
