Dawes Arboretum - Ohio 13, three miles north of I-70.

Night Hike- Friday, Nov. 20, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Free, meet at the Visitors Center Deck. Experience The Arboretum at night! Kids and adults are welcome to attend the hike through collections, woodlands and trails on one of our most popular programs.

Luminary Tour- Friday, Dec. 4, 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Canned food or monetary donations accepted for the Licking County Food Pantry.The Dawes Arboretum brings you an evening of illumination on the North Loop Auto Tour with 1,500 candle luminaries. Join us inside the Visitors Center after the drive for a cup of hot cocoa, a holiday treat and some activities for the whole family. All proceeds will benefit the Licking County Food Pantry.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever - Millersport. Millersport Community Theatre proudly presents “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” Nov. 13 and 14 at 8 p.m., and Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes before show time at the Millersport United Methodist Church, 2310 Refugee Street. • Dec. 5: Christmas In the Country - Start this holiday season off right with the Licking Park District for the annual “Christmas In the Country.” This event will give your family a chance to enjoy a relaxing evening during this old fashioned Christmas event. Enjoy horse drawn wagon rides, a guided night hike, chestnuts roasted over an open fire, local musical groups, a vist from St. Nicholas, childrens games and much more. Pancake Breakfast - Thurston. The Thurston-Walnut Township Fire Department will hold a pancake breakfast on from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, November 21 at 8474 High Street, Thurston. Suggested donations are $5 for adults and $3 for children. The menu is:sausage, pancakes, eggs, sausage gravy, biscuits, orange juice, coffee, tea, and milk. Thanksgiving Style Dinner - Millersport. Join the Millersport Fire Department Association for a Thanksgiving Dinner from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22 at the firehouse. Please bring a toy for the annual toy drive. Local senior citizen delivery is available; call 467-2646. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children.

Courthouse Christmas Lighting - Newark. Everyone is invited to attend the Lighting Ceremony and the official start of the Holiday Season in Licking County on Friday evening, November 27th. The evening will feature the annual holiday music program, the excitement of Santa’s arrival, and lighting of the local landmark. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. The holiday music program features longtime master of ceremonies Dave Lehman. Joining Dave, on the stage, will be well known local singers Hugh Price, Amy Fraley and Hayley Feightner. Returning this year will be Doug Moran and his brass quintet ‘The Heisey Brass’ playing ‘sounds of the season’. Also, featured will be local signers Tiffany Williams and Katie Freet. Santa’s arrival is expected around 7 p.m. and with the help of children will magically turn-on the Courthouse decorations and lights.

Candlelight Walking Tour - Granville. Begin the holiday season at the 16th annual Granville Candlelight Walking Tour on Saturday, December 5, 2009. Main Stret of this charming New England style village is lined with lighted live Evergreen holiday trees. The evening is filled with carriage rides, musical events, childrens’ activities, shopping unique boutiques for that perfect gift and dining in any of the fine restaurants. Celtic Christmas Celebration - Thornville. The Celtic group Evening Rose will provide a Celtic Christmas Celebration at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, at the South Shore Ministries Center on Ohio 13 and Thorn Township Road 391, two miles south of Thornville.The evening includes bagpiper Jordan Irwin. Traditional Scottish refreshments of puddings and shortbread will make this an evening to treasure. There will be a nursery for preschool children for the second half of the program. Harp Ensemble Concert - New Zion United Methodist Church, Baltimore. New Zion is hosting the Dayton Area Harp Ensemble for a Christmas concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29 at the church, 10991 Snyder Church Road. The ensemble features seven harpists accompanied by flute, violin, cello and percussion. There will be a free will offering with light refreshments after the concert. Everyone is welcome.

Buckeye Valley Opry - Hebron. The Buckeye Valley Opry hosts live country and Bluegrass music shows on Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m. starring Caney Creek Bluegrass Band and Lori-Lyn and New Outlook.
