Cemetery clean up makes writer proud

Editor:

On Sunday November 8, 2009 Troop 404 along with sixteen volunteers trimmed and straightened flags in the Millersport Cemetary. I am always filled with awe and wonder when the task is finished because there is a breeze that causes the flags to flutter under the blue sky and warm sunshine.

I wonder what Mathias Miller would think of his village in 2009 and what kind of lives the Civil War, Spanish and American War, World War I, World War II, Korean and Vietnam veterans lived. I pray they would be proud of what we have become and that their sacrifices were not in vain. We salute the Millersport American Legion members and hope this is a small way of thanking and honoring you.

A special thanks goes to John Clark who has been mowing and helping in the cemetery for years.

I believe my life has been touched for the better by being associated with the scouts, their parents and the volunteers that make our community a great place to live and raise our children.
