Thanks for the ‘Dependable Housewives’ of Walnut Township

Editor:

Most people are familiar with the TV show called Desperate Housewives. Not many people are familiar with the Dependable Housewives of Walnut Township and it’s unlikely that they will ever have their own TV show.

What these housewives of Walnut Township have are hearts of gold and dependable helping hands. They are the wives, sisters, mothers, and grandmothers of our township and they are your friends and acquaintances. Whenever there is a need that must be filled, they step in and complete the job.

In the last two years, they have sponsored many of the benefits to raise money for our neighbors in need. There are three businesswomen that must be publicly recognized for all that they do for these benefits and the other good deeds they perform. They are Stephanie Little from Sammy J’s Deli, Kim Oxley from Hometown Hot Dog and Faye Whitaker from the Old Canal Restaurant. One or all of them are behind many of the good things that go on in our area. Most of the other ladies that help belong to the Cradle to College Mothers Club or were members of the club at one time. There are too many to mention by name. They know who they are and they are the unsung heroes of the township.

When you see these women, thank them for who they are and what they do because they make Walnut Township a better place to live and raise our children.
