Horn lists his goals if elected township trustee

Editor:

I am excited about the possibility of serving you as trustee. Many people tell me they are ready for a change.

I will be a trustworthy caretaker of the people and resources of Walnut Township. I believe in truth and transparency in office and know that integrity and uprightness will protect me. I will serve with energy and passion which has been my trademark with all of my endeavors.

As an engineering project manager/ designer for 25 years, it’s always been my goal to deliver a high-quality, cost-effective project, particularly important in this economic climate. I approach issues without pre-conceived or hidden agendas. My goals:

Fire/EMS Task-Force Creation:

With a third- party consultant, assemble our communities and fire departments to ensure the best use of resources and 24/7 coverage for everyone. Look at the operational/organizational structure that best suits our unique needs for the next 1-10 years. Work towards the implementation of a joint fire district or township fire department pending the outcome of the task-force recommendations.

Communications:

Save tax dollars by developing an automatic e-mail database through the township website to alert residents of updates, emergencies and special township meetings. Publish a regular e-mail and hard -copy newsletter highlighting:
* Fire/EMS & zoning updates
* Projects status
* Trustees’ decisions

Zoning Litigation:

Save tax dollars to settle zoning disputes with arbitration vs. costly litigation.

Infrastructure Improvements:

Pursue all available grants for new and improved services for sewer, water, roads and fire/EMS service using my engineering experience and contacts.
