New track dedicated to coach

MILLERSBURG - A standing room only crowd turned out last Friday night for the dedication of the Ken Keener Track and Field Complex.

The rain held off for the halftime ceremony during the Millersport football opener with Fairfield Christian Academy.

"I'm humbled and honored," the long-time coach and now retired math teacher told the huge crowd. He's looking forward to Millersport hosting the MidState League Cardinal Division Track and Field Championship next May. The new all-weather track finally allows the school to host home track meets.

Keener co-dedicated the complex to the people of Walnut Township School District annd all district students. In the photos, Keener is joined by his wife and granddaughter; and the track team runs a ceremonial first lap.
