F. Dolores "Dee" Hite

F. Dolores "Dee" Hite, 84, of Lancaster, formerly of Baltimore, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at Fairfield Medical Center.

She was a member of New Salem United Methodist Church, graduate of Pleasantville High School, Pleasantville Rebekah Lodge, 25 years at Pleasant Grange #1615, and active in the Fairfield County Democratic Party.

She is survived by her sons, Donald Franklin (Mallory) Hite and Randy Herbert (Brenda) Hite all of Baltimore; five grandchildren, Tresha (William) Hite Bope, Jason Hite, Brian Hite, Emily Hite, and Abby Hite; great granddaughter, Ashley Bope; brothers, Robert Lee (Lois) Upp of Lancaster, and Thomas Herbert (Sherrie) Upp of Pleasantville; sister, Barbara Ann (Alan) Stanley of Baltimore; sister-in-law, Patricia Upp of Lancaster; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Hite; son, John Francis Hite a 21/2 year old; parents, Herbert and Mona Morehead Upp; step-mother, Leefe Potts Upp; sisters, Jean Adele Upp, Flo Ella George, and June Rose Boyer; brother, William Richard Upp; nieces, Kristi Bitner, .Judy Boyer Duvall; and nephew, Daniel Upp.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2009, in the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, 207 S. Main St., Baltimore, with Rev. Roger McElfresh officiating. Burial to follow in West Rushville Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior the service on Saturday.
