Olivia Slonaker, 96 of Baltimore, passed away August 1, 2009, at the Pataskala Oaks Care Center. She graduated from Lima Rural High School (Summit Station) in 1930 and from Office Training School in 1931.
Olivia was employed as a bookkeeper and secretary at Winders Motors Automobile Agency, High Lights for Children and retired from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Music was a big part of her life. She served as both church pianist and organist for many years at Reynoldsburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church where she was a charter member. She also played for numerous other churches throughout the area as well as for Kauber Funeral Home.
She is survived by two sons, F. Howard (Sandra) Slonaker of Baltimore and Robert O. Slonaker of Newark; eight grandchildren, John H. Slonaker, Patricia S. (Dr. Timothy) Diener, Robert C. (Stephanie) Slonaker, Chadd E. Slonaker, Cassie M. Slonaker, Craig R. Slonaker, Wyatt W. (Kayla) Slonaker and Reese W. Slonaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Lura (Woodruff) Owen; her twin sister, Roseanna Appleman; her husband, Francis B. Slonaker; one infant grandson, Christopher G. Slonaker; and her daughterin law, Lynn Wilson-Slonaker.
Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala.
