Harter named Grand Marshal for Sweet Corn Festival Parade

Editor:

We are pleased to announce that Ernie Harter of Thurston will serve as the Grand Marshal for the 63rd Sweet Corn Festival Grand Parade on Wednesday, Sept. 2 in Millersport. We encourage his friends, family, and neighbors to come out and show their support as he will be leading the parade on a special float provided by the Commodore Bank.

Ernie is being recognized for his outstanding contributions as former Mayor of Thurston, a leader of the Lancaster Old Car Club, former automobile dealer and longtime supporter and volunteer at the Sweet Corn Festival. He has been involved in the festival from the very first year and can still be found serving fish sandwiches or tacos in the food booth of his church, the Thurston United Methodist Church or driving his classic Oldsmobile in the Grand Parade.

Ernie has had quite an extraordinary life as a community leader and the Millersport Lions Club is honored to have him serve as this year's Grand Marshal. Ron Keller General Chairman Sweet Corn Festival, Inc.
