Alice Martha Ann (Harris) Bishop

Alice Martha Ann (Harris) Bishop, age 67 of Millersport, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at the Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.

She was born on October 5, 1941, in West Virginia to the late Archie and Louise (Collins) Harris. Alice was a 1959 graduate of Millersport High School and was a former Homecoming Queen; a graduate of several banking schools; former dedicated employee of the Millersport Bank for many years; retired from National Revenue; and a dedicated worker for the Millersport Lions Club Sweet Corn Festival. She loved to garden and loved attending to her rose bushes.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gayle Bishop; daughter, Sherry Annette Fannin of Newark; son, Rodney Gayle (Barbara) Bishop of Thurston; granddaughter, Amanda Fannin of Delaware; grandson, Dustin Bishop of Millersport; step granddaughter, Cassandra Dixon of Millersport; great granddaughter, Adria McKenzie Gayle Fannin of Millersport; sister, Betty Hunt of South Charleston, WV; half brothers, Henderson and David Harris of Georgia and Joe Harris of Morehead, KY; sisters-in-law, Sue (Al) Bergeron of Smith Mt. Lake, Moneta, VA, Patricia (Harold) Fair of Shrewsberry, WV, Alice (Dan) May of Elkview, WV; brother-inlaw, Carl (Edna) Bishop of Hurricane, WV; many special nieces and nephews and her special pet and best friend, Paige. Alice was loved and will be missed by all. "Gone But Not Forgotten!"

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Roy Caudell; brothers, Charlie and Jack Harris; special brothers-in-law, Eddie Bishop and Mack Hunt; and father and mother-in-law, Carl and Ethel Bishop.

Funeral services will be Saturday July 25, 2009, at 1:00 PM at the Craig M. Sheridan Funeral Home, 11544 Summerland Beach Rd., Millersport, with Pastor Bill Beard officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at the Millersport Cemetery.
