Celebration set for young girl's fight to survive

Editor:

We are new to the Buckeye Lake area. Since moving here from the Zanesville area, we have found it to be full of loving and caring people. With this in mind, we'd like to invite the community to an open house Saturday, July 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. in Leisure Village's (4711 Walnut Road) Section L-30.

This open house is a celebration for nine-year-old Hannah Moody who is a five-year cancer survivor. Hannah was diagnosed Aug. 30, 2003 with Wilms Tumor Diffuse Anaplasia stage 4, a rare type of prenatal kidney cancer with a 40 percent survival rate. After having her left kidney removed, eight radiation treatments, over 30 blood and platelet transfusions, four surgeries, numerous infections, along with a year of intense chemo and a long year of living in Columbus Children's Hospital, on July 28, 2004, she was declared to be in remission. We hope you'll join us for this wonderful occasion. See you there!
